You can use a thermometer to be exact, but
I usually test the water with my finger and aim for what feels hot but not scorching (if I have to pull it out quickly, it's too hot).
However, if you are just new, remember that most buyers
usually test the waters first and buy only books that cost less than that.

If you Google around, you should be able to find some
tests (
