In fairness to Codemasters the original
description on Steam did state it was a port
of last year's mobile
game, though it was rather
vague and it's easy to see why many customers feel duped.
Learning to parry is incredibly important for the combat and many
of the later boss battles are pretty much impossible if you can't do it consistently, and although the
game does feature a tutorial on it it's
description of it is
vague at best and you're given one guy to practice on who barely attacks you in the first place.
Praising the sun was an opportunity for players to place their own meaning on the
game world, rather than continue to excavate its
vague item
descriptions and cryptic cut scenes for scraps
of information.
There are hundreds
of other items in the
game, however, with
vague or useless
descriptions, and that's terribly annoying.
Sure you have the typical objectives that point players in the right direction, but with
vague descriptions and gameplay that is repetitive, as well as objectives that offer nothing in the way
of story progression past the prologue, I can't help but feel the only real meat
of the
game comes from the uninspiring cutscenes.
Fair enough, I don't want hand holding in a
game like this, but when you're introducing completely new mechanics like base building, that have never been seen before in a Fallout
game, I feel like there needs to be a little more
description of how it works than just a small pop - up box with
vague instructions.
