After I posted about «Observational Systems: Correlations with

blog follower, associate professor, and statistician named Laura Ring Kapitula (see also a very influential article she wrote on VAMs here) posted
comments on this site that I found
of interest, and I thought would also be
of interest to
blog followers.
Great list, I know about 10
of them, can't wait to check out the other
blogs I wonder if there is a good correlation between the
blogs actual
value to the client and it's ranking and what would happen if you take other factors such as facebook likes, number
of comments and so on.
As far as links are concerned, having somebody put you up on their blogroll or doing a guest post on a site is
of much greater
value than
blog comments which are nofollow links (don't pass much link juice).

of merely having a backlink to your site, then there are a myriad
of clean ways to get quality backlinks, one
of which @Ned Carey highlighted... being active on
blogs and leaving your mark through
comments (offering good dialogue, insightful
comments, and providing
value) is a great way to get a link and strike up a relationship with the
blog owner.
