You could use benzoin instead, or
some vanilla fragrance oil, but this is a good place to use vanilla essential oil — since it's water soluble I don't use it often, and I'm loving it here.
I also think that bus in fb the
vanilla bean might give the scrub a shorter shelf life than the essential
oil, and since I have about 8 different jars of homemade body scrub in my shower (for different
fragrances or for specific uses, like an anti-cellulite coffee scrub), the shelf life of anything I make is really important to me.
