I bought a small can of Sun Bleached Varathane Wood Stain.

Sometimes... depending on the piece... I will also seal it with a coat of poly or varathane after washing to give it some added freshness while sealing in some of it's «patina»

Do you remember what brand Polyurethane you used, you said Water - based, was it Rustoleum Varathane Fastest Drying Polyurethane?

So I used a sanding block wrapped in 80 grit sandpaper to (carefully) sand them off, and then I coated the entire thing with some leftover Varathane Floor Finish...

I don't know if this helps everyone but Home Depot has a barnwood stain called Varathane Gray Weathered Wood Stain.
