An optional Adaptive M Suspension brings
variable damping control in three different modes: comfort, sport and sport plus — each of which boasts its own individual stability control calibration.
It adopts air springs front and rear, rather than just at the rear as previously, providing
constantly variable damping control, automatic self - levelling and the ability to alter the nominal 135 mm ride height on the go.
It comes as standard
with variable damping control in either a comfort orientated set - up or a so - called sports package, which receives firmer springs and dampers and Mercedes - Benz's direct - steer steering system for added agility.
Underpinning the Macan, whose name is derived from the Indonesian word for «tiger,» is a heavily reworked version of the Q5's chassis with a double wishbone front and multilink rear suspension with
variable damping control and electromechanical steering system.
A choice of three suspension tunes with
variable damping control is planned from the outset: Comfort, Comfort Avantgarde (with a 15 mm reduction in ride height) and Sport, which also features a 15 mm ride height reduction.
As part of
this Variable Damping Control can bet set in comfort, normal, sport, sport + modes.
In addition to the basic steel spring arrangement, the GLC Coupé comes with the choice of two suspension set - ups with
variable damping control, including a new steel spring Dynamic Body Control set - up and the Air Body Control system with air springs already available on the regular GLC.
