Refusing to
face the dark yet simultaneously potent and creative side
of our
nature, we have projected it in monstrous form onto any number
of scapegoats, especially racial, political, and religious minorities
of various sorts (DPNE 50 - 58).
The film's hero with a dozen
faces is a young man (Wiley Wiggins
of «Dazed and Confused») who wanders an urban dreamscape, encountering
various guides and fellow sleepwalkers, most
of whom have something to say about the meaning
of life and the
nature of death.
