Located in the center of Vienna, it features artists working in
various media, from painting, sculpture, drawing,
photography and installations to a
series dedicated to contemporary video works.
This publication brings together three major bodies of work: the photographic and video works produced under the fictional collective name The Atlas Group;
various series of seemingly «straight»
photography of his native Beirut titled Sweet Talk: Commissions (Beirut); and his most recent project, Scratching on Things I Could Disavow: A History of Art in the Arab World.
Through this method, the works combine discrete marks in a
series of layers that carry the traces of
various processes and reproductive technologies, including scanning, image compression, and digital
photography, thereby investigating the conversion between the digital and material realms.
Gradients was a
series of works that explored the intersection of
photography and sculpture, and referenced and distilled the color of the
various locales in which they were installed.
