This was my first attempt at cooking
vegetable noodles like pasta — boiled in a pot of salted water — a method I've been curious about for a while.
Not exact matches
I shape daikon radish into
noodle -
like strands (using this handy tool) and use them in place of
noodles, in an effort to lighten things up and to squeeze another beautiful but underutilized
vegetable into the mix.
The fresh garlic, ginger, chilli and lime juice... mmmmm... the fresh, crunchy
vegetables and fragrant herbs... This Thai
Noodle Salad is ready in a jiffy and tastes exactly
like daydreams in the sunshine on a tropical island.
Earlier this year, the Hemsleys also launched the Hemsley Spiralizer, a must - have kitchen tool for instantly turning fruit and
vegetables into
noodle -
like spirals which sold out in a month.
To make a Southern Chicken and Dumplings, the
noodles are boiled in the chicken broth (
like you would pasta), after the chicken has been cooked with a few aromatic
vegetables and removed from the broth to shred.
This dish is so delicious, it tastes
like your eating an old classic favorite, Chinese stir - fry egg
noodles with
vegetables, only better!
I prefer to use rice vermicelli for an authentic texture, but feel free to use spiralized
vegetables (
like zucchini or yellow squash), or sweet potato
noodles, depending on your preference.

1 small onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 rib celery, chopped 2 Tbsp olive oil 1 box Chicken Broth (I used College Inn) 3 cubes chicken Boullion 1/2 bag frozen mixed
vegetables (I used Hanover brand) 3 Cups water 2 handfuls of wide egg
noodles (about 2 cups) more or less to your
liking.
Armed with my trusty
vegetable peeler, I set off to make my own carrot
noodles (Wegmans sells these too but I
like the wide, flat ribbons you get using a peeler, kind of
like carrot pappardelle) and it was pretty easy.
3 packed cups carrot «
noodles» (you can use a spiralizer, buy them spiralized or just use a
vegetable peeler
like I did)

I finally just bought a little julienne slicer so that I can get
noodles that look more
like yours, instead of using my
vegetable peeler
Another place we found helpful was Thai Supermarket in Vesterbro which is a big store full of anything you could need for more or less any Asian cuisine you'd
like to cook including spices, sauces,
vegetables,
noodles and much more.

While Indians prefer fiery hot and spicy Chinese creations
like chili chicken (or
vegetables), hakka
noodles and so on, Americans go for Chinese dishes that are spicy and tangy with a touch of sweetness.
They're flavorful, not overly saucy, and I
like being able to get a nice mix of
noodles,
vegetables, and some protein in one bowl.
We
like to eat this with brown rice pasta, but these meatballs would be equally delicious over a bed of steamed
vegetables, or even zucchini
noodles.
It was interesting roundup up these recipes, because I found that so many of them used
vegetables in place of
noodles —
like spaghetti squash or sweet potatoes.
That's because all the
vegetables have to be cooked separately, just
like you would with «japchae» (Korean stir - fried sweet potato
noodles).
This all -
vegetable version of traditional spaghetti gives the option of using traditional grain pasta (I
like brown rice pasta), or using fresh zucchini «
noodles,» which are easily created using a mandolin (a type of
vegetable slicer) or spiral slicer.
Make zucchini
noodles with a julienne peeler, or use your regular
vegetable peeler to shave the zucchini into fettucine -
like ribbons.
Kelp
noodles are made from sea
vegetables but they do not taste
like sea
vegetables.
1.2 litres (5 cups) dashi or

noodles
You can play around with many different
vegetables, eat it with
noodles or maybe you'd
like to add rice to your bowl, you can even be as bold as to pour it over some steamed potatoes.
Like most
vegetables, it grills up wonderfully smoky, and its physically flexible nature means it will curl neatly into
noodles — or, zoodles, as I've seen them called on the interwebs — creating a perfectly lovely zucchini
noodle bowl.
I
like how the water from the
noodles was used efficiently to also cook the
vegetables.
Students can enjoy options
like Roasted
Vegetable Panini, Green Curry Soup with
Noodles, Seitan au Vin and Jungle Curry.

If you want, you can absolutely use
vegetable noodles or any other type of
noodle, but it is just fastest with shirataki
noodles (
like these) and I prefer the texture of them anyway.
This little guy works
like a pencil sharpener, cutting ribbon -
like noodles out of zucchini or carrots (or any oblong
vegetable).
