First off I doubled the recipe and added about a 1/4 cup of corn starch into the flour before I measured it (making it cake flour) and I added 4 Tbs of white vinegar to the milk and let it stand for 5 mins (this makes it buttermilk) and I used
vegetable oil instead of butter plus I added 1 Tbs of Vanilla extract.

Instead, I sauté all the
vegetables in
oil until they're soft before incorporating them into the patty.
My favorite item to use
instead of butter is canola
oil, but you can use any light tasting
vegetable oil, just reduce the amount.

I use lemon juice
instead of apple cider vinegar or just skip it, 1 extra teaspoon baking powder
instead of baking soda and 1 extra tablespoon coconut
oil instead of
vegetable oil, and bake for 30 minutes in the middle of the oven.
