we have just built our house & we're almost at second fix carpentry stage and i had originally planned on a salvaged brick
wall but i have that in our dining room and it was workin out too expensive, so then i thought
vertical planks but i much rather the horizontal
planks now since seeing them on your blog - thank you for the wonderful inspiration.
I also like more of a wide
plank vertical or maybe even fir trimmed
wall like board and batten.
I like the
vertical for the
walls with horizontal
planking over the fireplace like you did your fireman's fireplace.
The horizontal
planks look more like an outside
wall, and also since your ceilings aren't extra high, the
vertical boards feel more proportionate.
Those are horizontally
planked walls, not
vertical.
Love the horizontal in kitchen and, if adding built - ins on long
wall in living, think the
vertical planks would work well there.
