Many of the Honda Civic Type R concept's extreme - looking exterior elements are in the name of aerodynamics, including the front spoiler,
the vertical side wings, and the enormous rear wing with its nifty integrated LED taillights.

For the measurement of hemolymph flow speeds in the ventral abdomen, mosquitoes were restrained ventral -
side up by placing pins: (1) against (not through) the anterior pronotal lobe, and (2) through non-vascular areas (e.g. cell R3) of each
wing without creating horizontal or
vertical tension (Figure 1C).
At first sight the
side sills look the same as seen on the Avanti Rosso, also the very large rear
wing, with integrated rear view camera looks identical (repainted, but styled the same) but the lower rear diffuser has been modified with extra
vertical fins while the air vents under the taillights show Y - shaped insets now... inspired by Mansory perhaps?
At the rear we find a very aggressive, race inspired rear
wing in clear carbon fiber... it looks like a Murciélago Super Veloce rear
wing with
vertical fins added on either
side... on the
side of this Gallardo we found a TriColore stripe design that reminds us of the final Gallardo evolution made, the LP570 - 4 Squadra Corse.
In this case the entire set has been installed, including the massive front bumper with those typical SV style
vertical fins, the
side sills are present together with the lower diffuser at the rear... and the Spezial Version rear fascia in combination with the beautiful high riding rear
wing.
The engine was upgraded and the body aerodynamically tweaked, with the angle of the rear
wing increased and mini
vertical dive planes on either
side of the front nose.
On the
side we also get some serious carbon fiber, the entire
side sill and intake section in front of the rear wheel is made from clear carbon fiber now, just behind the front wheel we get a little
vertical wing like the Jota had, but by using the same black shade all the way up on the
side air intakes the look is totally different, perhaps even more aggressive.
