With over a month
of the
summer transfer window still to go I would say that the Arsenal and England international star Jack Wilshere has just enough time to prove to Arsene Wenger that he is worth keeping at Arsenal for the season to come and so his return to training after the leg fracture he suffered while on loan with AFC Bournemouth towards the
end of last season is
very timely.
Arsenal have added Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac to their evergrowing wage bill this
summer, as well as increasing the size
of their squad, which Arsene Wenger already described as «heavy» at the
end of last season.It would appear that Alex Oxlade - Chamberlain has refused to sign his new contract with the Gunners, and this has left Wenger a
very big dilemma, especially after stating categorically that the Ox would be «100 %» playing for Arsenal this season.
As for Lemar, he may well be
very good, but the deal ran into problems early, and in the
end well... Arsenal should have changed their focus and looked for alternative targets, Seri, Rafinha, Goretzka, Carvalho, Isco, Turan and others, we've been linked with a lot
of names over the
last few
summers, some
of them had reasonable buy out clauses or were looking to move for more game time.
I will be crucified for what I am about to say but OZIL came to ARSENAL as a nervy
last minute buy when WENGER was lynched on that first game against VILLA after not doing nothing at all the whole
