John Williams also gives us another
excellent film score, including a
very famous signature we all know and love.
It fits in nicely with his recent output, all of which have been good to
very good, although I wager he hasn't done a truly

The set of winners this time once is
very diverse, with pretty much every
excellent film from 2016 taking home something.
Stories We Tell is a twisty documentary about Sarah Polley's quest to find the truth of her parentage that makes some fascinating statements about the power of storytelling and how it shapes our perceptions (and is a

The video portion of the Blu - ray Disc presentation was

It's an
excellent film, I hope it goes on to do

To be fair the blame falls on the script (by the usually
excellent writer Peter Morgan, of such
films as Frost / Nixon and The Last King of Scotland) and not on Eastwood's direction, and the performances across the board are all

While it is undeniably not a masterpiece like so many of his previous
films, Torn Curtain still offers some
excellent Hitchcock touches and set pieces, some
very fine acting by leads and supporting actors, and a catchy score.
Although it's sounds depressing, Lonergan fills it with a lot of dry humour and the entire cast are
excellent; Kyle Chandler only features in flashbacks but he brings a really strong paternal presence and, despite appearing high in the
film credits, Michelle Williams actually features
