book but, by the way he talks about it, he reveals himself as
well.

book has received tremendous mainstream attention, including
reviews in TIME, The New Yorker, and to the
best of my knowledge the

A
good number of these publishers are
very well respected, and their
books can be
reviewed in the largest and most prestigious publications in the world.
This is the company, elsevier, with spectacular profit rates, whch gets its material (papers,
books) which have mostly been produced at public expense (university salaries, public research grants), do
very little actual editorial work (one usually has to supply papers charts etc «print ready»), get academic reviewers to
review the
books and papers free of charge (
well, paid for by universities or they do it in free time), depend on journal editors whose time is paid for by (generally publicly funded) universities, then sells the journals to the same universities, sometimes for subscription prices in the thousands of dollars.
As
well as the getting your
book in front of people who might buy, Goodreads recommends (although does not oblige) winners to
review books they receive — so your chances of getting a
review are
very high.
As I've told indies many times over, there's a
very good reason why so many
book reviewers won't
review them.
Here a special note should be made to one of our authors and his
book, recently chosen by Kirkus
Reviews as among the
very best of all the indie
books they
reviewed in 2011.
It is obvious to have to
good research for any type of writing and this factor is
very much true for
book review writing as
well.

review source, so when they look at those
books, they're able to say yes this is a
good book that your library can be proud to share with the community and that allows the libraries to be inclusive,» McKinney said.
Indie authors perversely focus on marketing, social media, and «getting the word out» about their
book because they are loathe to address and fix the real problems (the
book itself may not be
very good, or their cover or website is ugly, or the
book doesn't have any
reviews).

Your first
book wasn't
very good, but paid
reviews got you a slew of readers who read your
book, and hated it.
... while «
good enough» can be a little difficult to define, «not
good enough» is
very easy to spot: almost every single one of the self - published
books I've been sent for my self publishing
review blog has slotted into this category, some far more easily than others (and bear in mind that I've got a backlog of
book reviews waiting to be scheduled for publication, and most of them didn't make the grade).
There are other paid and free
review services out there, but Kirkus Discoveries has the industry clout and objectivity that make it a
very tempting avenue for authors wanting to bring more attention to their

book is being featured, talked about or recommended on relatively moderate to high ranking websites or blogs essentially tells Amazon (and by direct extension, the algorithm running in the background) that your particular Kindle
book may
very well be worth their while to start spreading the word about.Start contacting
book review blogs and blogs in your niche for
review or promotional opportunities.
It has gotten
very difficult for small press titles to get
reviews; many
book bloggers now ignore them and only accept
books from large and / or
well - known publishers.

good reviews so I think hte
books could sell
well and I get
very little criticism of copy for the last few

As a
book lover with a lot of
books to read and
very little time, a
book that's has been thoroughly edited has a
better chance of getting a
review.
The
review system and word of mouth are efficient filters that make it
very easy to find
good books to read.
I was quite successful in my recent promotion in NOT selling copies of the promoted novel (I'm apparently quite
good at that), but not
very successful in getting
reviews, and not successful in getting new sales of the short story
book.
Clearly, the
book trade, with all its editors, cover artists, sales people, marketing savvy, and traditional distribution channels, managed to do
very little for this
well -
reviewed novel by a brand - new author...
