Heavy benching can bring you a shoulder,
chest or joint injury
very easy (also a droopy looking
chest) so in 90 % of the time i substitute it with incline bench presses.
The most effective
chest workouts are those alternating
very heavy with lighter weights, so if you want massively pumped
chest muscles for a hotter summer look, make sure to start with a
very heavy weight, with which you can only do 2 - 3 repetitions.
In addition, this style is
very ineffective for
heavy weights because the legs can't be engaged and your shoulders will suffer from your
chest and back being kept in a flat position.
This sequence is
very important because if you do triceps before
chest, the triceps will fail before
chest and you can not lift
heavier in Bench press thus not stimulating
chest enough.
Also, I just want to mention, I have suffered shoulder impingement lifting
heavy and have struggled to to do any powerlifts with my shoulders and
chest because of it... I have done physio, chiro and nothing helped my shoulder until I started doing
very light weight high rep shoulder workouts... I kinda figured because the shoulders are smaller, they require high reps, but I never would have though legs,
chest and back would also give you a lot of benefit through high reps.
The exercise I've got for you here targets the inner aspect of the
chest very strongly... and with a
heavy pressing movement, which is
very useful for building.
However, one word of caution about high - neckline dresses: If you are
VERY top
heavy, you will want to avoid high necklines as they may press down your
chest so much that they create a «grandma boobs» illusion.
