Unfortunately,
a very high carb meal or series of meals can really set you back on your diet plan.
Reactive hypoglycemia is more of an acute reaction to
a very high carb meal.
The problem with the higher carb bulking diets is that you can get very groggy and sleepy especially after
a very high carb meal.

Tortillas, rice, chips, and potatoes are all
high -
carb, starchy grains that add
very little nutritional and hunger - satiating value to your
meal.
Obviously there's no rule against eating these items together, but it does seem like a
very high carb load for one
meal, especially when you throw in a brownie to boot.
If you eat
meals that have
high carb content later during the day, when insulin sensitivity is
very low, you will start experiencing bigger spikes in your blood insulin levels and bigger fat gains.
As you can see this workout is
very intense and because of the
high volume work you'll need to lower the weights.After the third work day, rest for two days.You should eat about 3 hours before this workout and do some heavy (but clean) eating after the workout.This means that you should eat lots of protein (around 1.5 g / lb a day) from lean meats, eggs, fish, low fat milk and nuts.As for the
carbs — eat low glycemic
carbs through out the day and a big
meal of
high glycemic
carbs along with protein right after the workout.
Breakfast is your best friend and should consist of complex
carbs and proteins, while other
meals should be
very frequent — aim for 6 - 8
high - calorie
meals throughout the day.
People in Asia / Japan (where I live) eat rice /
carbs at almost every
meal, live the longest of anyone everywhere (Japan has the
highest longevity rates) and seem to have
very few health problems.
It's more likely due to water retention which is
very common after having a couple of
high -
carb meals.
I know the overall ratio for my day but some
meals may be
very high in fat or
very high in
carbs.
Unless you have been eating
high -
carb meals regularly, it's
very likely that the extra pounds are not from increased body fat.
The
high FAT macro nutrient balance I've had on my low
carb days has kept me
VERY full feeling, so i really only have 2 - 3
meals that day and sometimes have a difficult time getting all of my calories in for the day (hence the I.F.).
So the more that we can add these components in, getting those minerals, getting the
high quality herbs and sprots and different things like that and those uhh - really really polyphenal rich
very low
carb with any
carb, types of nutrients into our system with our
meals is just so powerful.
Even on rest days, having
carbs in your first
meal of the day can be perfectly fine, as insulin sensitivity is still
very high after a night of fasting.
