I also tried using a very small snowflake cookie cutter to cut out the peppermint candies and placed them on top of brownies.
Using a cookie cutter (any small round one will do), cut the dough into circles and place on a greased, parchment paper - covered baking sheet (very important so the cookies don't stick).
The smaller the cookie cutter the better as the dough is very crumbly.
