The scones themselves are not
very sweet, so I highly recommend serving them with the icing on
top to make them a little extra indulgent.
I skipped the jam
topping because it was already pretty
sweet with the maple syrup and my

My version of this simple, quick dimple - y bread gets
topped with
sweet roasted pumpkin and salty olives or feta, making it
very well suited to the season.
As the pancake itself isn't
very sweet, the
toppings are what truly makes this dish shine.
The dough is similar to that of bread: flour, yeast, almond milk and a bit of coconut oil, and you simply
top it with fruit, but you normally only see it with plums, or damsons, a special and
very sweet kind of plum that we get over here.
It's not
very much at all for how much batter there is, but I didn't want it to overpower the cinnamon or be too cloyingly
sweet — remember, we've got streusel and glaze to
top the cake!
Without change at the
very top a new manger will make
sweet FA difference.
They were nice and sharp but still
sweet, I baked with the
topping for a bit longer as I didn't trust the eggs would set after only 15 minutes and they were
very wobbly still, I probably did it for about 25 minutes in total (although I kind of forgot about them).
I also made a
very inexpensive batch of turkey chili and to make it last even longer with smaller portions, I made chili and cheese stuffed
sweet potatos (
top right).
The mince mix is also
very versatile; you could have some on
top of the hummus bowl and then use the leftovers stirred through zucchini noodles, on
top of a baked
sweet potato, underneath some poached eggs, etc..
This vegan cherry cake has a
very sweet, chocolate base and a creamy,
sweet topping.
If you look closely in the above photo, you'll see a

The reason why refined grains, potatoes, sugary drinks,
sweets and salt are placed at the
top of the Healthy Eating Pyramid (together with red meat and butter), is that you should eat / drink
