Two shared resources provide support for the
program; the Blue Buffalo Clinical Trials Office / Biospecimen Repository, also known as the
Veterinary Clinical
Research Support Shared Resource (VCRSSR, supported by the OSU Comprehensive
Cancer Center and Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences) and the Comparative Pathology and Mouse Phenotyping Shared Resource (CPMPSR).

The Sprecher Institute for Comparative
Cancer Research incorporates many of the
programs of the Cornell University College of
Veterinary Medicine.
Clinical Sciences faculty are responsible for many
programs independent of the department such as Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists, Cornell
Veterinary Biobank, Estimated Breeding Values (EBV's), Equine Performance Clinic, Sprecher Institute for Comparative
Cancer Research, and the Swanson Wildlife Health Clinic.
The Auburn University College of
Veterinary Medicine's chapter of the Omega Tau Sigma professional fraternity recently contributed more than $ 2,932 raised through its benevolent fundraising efforts to a
cancer research program at the college.
In 2004, the Bishop family also established the Blue Buffalo Foundation, a separate non-profit, charitable organization that encompasses a variety of
programs intended to enhance and improve the lives of our furry friends by funding
cancer research, financial assistance for
cancer treatments,
veterinary scholarships and by supporting organizations who provide service dogs for disabled military personnel.

A new collaborative
research program pairs James experts who treat certain kinds of bone and tissue
cancers, called sarcomas, with OSU
veterinary experts who manage the same
cancers in canine patients.
