It is possible that
high fat diets exert their effects
via the excessive release
of cholecystokinin and that hypercalcemia, organophosphates and
high levels of circulating glucocorticoids also facilitate (potentially by changing pancreatic sensitivity to hyperstimulation), or cause pancreatic hyperstimulation; however, this is not proven.
