The scheme is being developed in collaboration with the Association of British Insurers (ABI), Ministers, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and Cabinet Office (CO),
via the Water Bill 2014, which received Royal Assent in May 2014
Marine birds, such as sea gulls, are able to drink salt
water because their bodies have a sophisticated desalination system that extracts excess salt from their blood
via glands found near their eyes and excretes it from their nostrils where it runs down grooves in their
bills.
