I'm not a big fan of the whole lean startup thing or even minimum
viable products (MVPs) unless they've been previously market -
validated, but there is a clear virtue in representing an initial solution which a company can quickly buy and bring to market — even if it's not comprehensive, industrial strength or the whole enchilada on Day One.
It is the stage where you
validate the problem exists in a specific customer segment and if so,
validate your solution using a minimum
viable product.
Minimum
viable product being define as not a
product but a strategy to
validate your solution with the least amount of effort.
Without measuring, trusting the numbers, tracking,
validating, and optimizing the data you get from your clients, it's not possible to create a
viable product in high demand.
