But never one to pass up an opportunity to network with political leaders in a key
presidential primary state, the
vice president also reached out to the state Democratic Party ahead of his
visit to help them raise money.
His
visit comes on the same day that
Vice President Joe Biden, another Democrat flirting with a
presidential run, appears in the state to deliver the University of South Carolina commencement address and raise money for the state Democratic Party in Columbia.
Making this known during a courtesy
visit by the members of the University's Governing Council and management to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his
Presidential Hilltop, Abeokuta, residence, was the
Vice Chancellor of TASUED, Professor Oluyemisi Oluremi Obilade, who remarked that the award was a thank you gesture to the former President under whose tenure the University was licensed on November 28, 2005.
