Her work, initially inspired by fly on the wall documentaries such as Michael Apted's Up series, is characterised by an engagement with the lives of others and her own family history; she uses photography, video and a range of devices to reveal personal details.

The 2014 documentary Banksy Does New York, director Chris Moukarbel shows 31 days of mystery, during which he did not focus on finding Banksy, but on telling about his stay in the city through the very series of pieces he painted by tracking down Instagram posts, Tweets, YouTube videos and Banksy's own posts via his website.

A multi-screen, documentary - style video installation, «Question Bridge: Black Males in America» presents a dynamic series of «exchanges» among black men, who span generations and backgrounds, about a range of contemporary issues particularly relevant in this post-Obama era and in the wake of Ferguson and countless other police involved killings of African American men that have dominated the news for more than a year now.

Combining narrative films like «Body Double» and «A Short Film About Love» with experimental films, documentaries, and video art, the series demonstrates how the ideas of voyeurism, surveillance, and identity have been central throughout the history of cinema.

This series and other major paper pulp projects, including Frank Stella's Paper Reliefs (1975), Ellsworth Kelly's Colored Paper Images (1976), Kenneth Noland's Handmade Paper Project (1978 - 82) and James Rosenquist's Welcome to the Water Planet (1988 - 89), can be viewed online at The Kenneth Tyler Collection at the National Gallery of Australia, alongside numerous texts, documentary photographs and videos that give a sense of the extraordinary enthusiasm of Tyler and his willingness to go to any lengths to try something new.
