atheists that have extrapolated the facts of biological evolution into a world
view of purpose for existence (that is unsupported
by the facts) clearly have a false god.
i am aware of one
atheist who claims scholarship holding that
view but he was readily exposed
by fellow professors who actually knew scholars of antiquity and the
atheist recanted his error publicly.
If as you say you have talked to others who claim to be
Atheist the way you describe it then they are IDIOTS who also don't understand Atheism and yes at that point since they are claiming «no God» to be true, then
by all means call their point of
view a «religion».
It is what has lead me to my veiw that Atheism as a religion, the passion most
Atheist have for their point of
view from the start you may not fall in this category but I'm sure you know someone that does.The same applies to Christians that freak out on someone and start forcing their
view on others, I see that as wrong also if someone asks or brings the debate to you then
by all means debate but why be rude how does it help?
Atheist reject the idea of a god and believe their
view to be true or they would be agnostic unless they choose no stance at all of a god that of which would require unknowing of what the term «god» means so it would fall under a belief and since they can't prove that a god doesn't exist then
by definition it requires faith for their
view, meaning it would effect their
view of the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe if a god was proven to be true.
Similarly, people born into any given religious faith — Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc, etc, etc — and who are immersed in that faith, and surrounded
by people of that faith, all of their lives — and especially their childhood — can't be expected to suddenly cast off such total indoctrination when an
atheist such as myself presents them with certain facts which conflict with their world
view.
Christians in Rome were
viewed as a threat to the Emperor (Roman Emperors,
by the way, were not
atheists, they tended to have Pagan beliefs — recall the Roman gods).

atheist but it is actually more applicable to the Muslim guy — HE is the one who abused our rights and HE should realize it is HIS responsibility to abide

It is to the point where my agnostic friend would rather be inclined to believe in God rather than concede to the type of world
view that an
atheist runs with, which is
by far the most deluded and unintelligent among them all.
Muslims in general if left alone with out your intervention might end up fighting each other due differences of
views in their faith, but if west keep on applying pressure causing starvation, harassment and confrontation against Muslims and against their faith, this will only lead them to leave behind their differences and jointly or individually confront their enemies, those who wants to deprive them from their rights of faith and belief and the more they are pressed the more they would complain
by reacting and not
by words and cries since words and cries seem does not reach, heard or work out now a days since being their judges and executors are all of non religious such as
atheists, infidels, polytheists who consider their vast interests above all humanity and faith issues such as mercy, leniency, compassion, pity, sympathy, kindness all that of human mutual heavenly code of conduct.!?
But the book takes a rather surprising turn when Besançon discusses how icons came to be, in the author's
view, fetishized
by the Orthodox churches, especially
by Russian nationalists» the most flagrant case being Joseph Stalin's order that icons be displayed in Moscow the day after Hitler's invasion of Russia in 1941 to whip up nationalist fervor in his
atheist state.
There is certainly a strongly held
view, exemplified
by popular scientists such as Steven Pinker, professor of psychology at Harvard and an avowed
atheist, that there is no such thing as free will in the sense of an independent personal entity.
But you still keep yourself acceptable
by declaring to be spiritual - but - not - churched and thus safely (in your
view) outside the ugly demon - possessed
atheist circles (which I am guessing is a ghost of bigotry still echoing in your head which makes this cartoon funny to you.)
I think it is cool to still be a «Christian», of course (well, only certain types)-- hell, I don't identify as an
Atheist — it is an epiphenom for me (see this post) and I too am
viewed differently
by many — see my picture I drew here.
Texas is one of the most pious states in the nation, and
atheists are still
viewed with suspicion
by many Americans.
Furthermore, the entire point of my post was to show that even though I am a Christian and do not agree with the
atheist view of God (which is to say the idea of the absense of God), I STILL support this soldier in their right to attend the ceremony and NOT have to bow their head, and believe that any Christian or other person who would force this soldier to do so
by threat of removal from the ceremony, is just plain wrong.
Oh, and before you start in on the
Atheists» opposite
view of your own
by askling us for proof, you'll need to provide all your research and evidence so as to give us a working baseline.
There is also a
view of historical criticism used
by atheists against the Bible being deemed Holy Scripture — after all, the canon excluded historical books that were accepted until the council denounced those books.

On the contrary, he finds it useful to ponder an array of reductionist attempts to explain the existence of religion, from that which seeks to pinpoint the area of the human brain or the specific genes connected to religiosity to that which sees religion as a malfunction of the human mind or a vestigial remnant from a primitive stage of human development suitable only for whimpering, immature dullards (a point of

The author, Vasko Kohlmayer, wrote about his thoughts about the big bang and
atheist / agnostic
views towards it and then, in the very next paragraph, wrotre «Richard Dawkins suggested that it [life] may have been seeded on this earth
by aliens».
In the
atheist world
view their can be no absolute standard of morality for there is no absolute standard to measure morality
by.
However, I tend to sympathize with the
atheist view because of the historical irrational behavior demonstrated
by groups of faith over the history of humanity.
The multiverse theory is particularly appealing to
atheist scientists as it contradicts the «anthropic principle», the idea that our universe is «fine - tuned» for humanity, a
view espoused
by Faith.
However as a humanist I think that the GCSE RS course does not include my
views and the
views of many other
atheists and humanists wanting to study religion and we feel excluded
by the lack of education about our beliefs.
