Vintage brass candle holders are a great option that you can source from thrift stores.
I used
some vintage brass candle holders I found at Modern Manor.
On the fireplace I hung our furry white stockings (also from Target), layered the leftover greenery from our Christmas tree trimming, and placed
vintage brass candle holders on each side.

vintage, the tall white ones -LCB- one on left, one on right -RCB- are actually salvaged,
vintage lamp bases, that we turned into
candle holders, and all of the others are were picked up several years ago, and I can't remember where I bought them!
