The exhibition includes 35 recently - acquired works from the PJ Carroll Collection, one of the formative influences
in the development of the
visual arts in Ireland, the PJ Carroll Collection is widely regarded as a pre-eminent collection of Irish
art of the 1960s and «70s, providing vital support for many leading artists at a time when
general interest
in the
visual arts was still quite limited.
Belmore is the recipient of the Governor
General's award
in Visual Arts and Media (2013) and was Canada's representative to the Venice Biennial (2005).

Arts Commission was created

General Assembly with the special mandate to stimulate and encourage the presentation of the
visual, literary, music and performing
arts and to encourage public interest in the cultural heritage of Tennes
arts and to encourage public interest
in the cultural heritage of Tennessee.

General's Award
in Visual and Media
Arts from the Canada Council for the
Arts.
This panel, held
in conjunction with the exhibition Robert Heinecken: Object Matter, explores pornography
in art as it pertains to Heinecken's work and to
visual culture
in general over the last 40 years.
By constantly developing «Neometry» (a geometric based Op -
art made with a primarily neon based palette, as he titled his work), the artist produced some of his most complex pieces yet —
in terms of sizes, shapes, colors, and
general concepts or
visual effects.
