button, made out of metal with different textures, the

button only really serves to get confused for
volume down during calls, and thwart your ability to
take screenshots (long - time Samsung users are going to be mildly irritated here, because
taking screenshots used to be a matter of holding the home
button and power
button — now it's the power
button plus
volume down).
Screenshots are now
taken by pressing the
volume up and side
button at the same time.
I frequently hit it instead of the
volume down
button, pulling up the assistant instead of
taking a photo or reducing the loudness of my music.
A quick press on the
volume up and side
button takes a screenshot (don't use
volume down and the side
button as that will sleep your phone).
In my testing, the fingerprint reader worked like a charm as a Windows Hello - supported way to unlock the system upon booting up, but the machine's
volume buttons felt a little stiff,
taking a lot of force to click.
It lets you have a second shutter
button inside the camera app, one that can be moved anywhere on the screen so you can easily
take photos without reaching for the
volume buttons or the default shutter
button, which can be hard to do at times.
Although, it works as a
volume button if the music is playing and
take a snap only when music is not being played.
