Along the edges of the Tab 10.1 you'll only find two
buttons (power and

The power - on
button is easier to access and the
volume toggles are easily accessible, even when using one hand.
The
volume buttons and silent
toggle remain on the left edge of the iPhone X, while the power
button remains on the right edge.
A
volume toggle, SIM slot, and another
button are visible on the phone's left side, with a micro USB port at the bottom.
The Cool - er has a set of
buttons down its left - hand edge for sound, orientation, exit and menu and a
toggle button on the right for sound
volume.
You'll find separate

button below the LCD, the metal band plays home to all the hard inputs, including separate
volume up and down
buttons on the left, a hard switch to
toggle silent mode right above it, a headphone jack and power
button on the top left and right, and a discreet door for SIM cards on the right side, which you'll need a paperclip to eject.
Alongside the
volume toggle and power
button is one extra: the QButton.
Just like the 7 - inch model, the power
button, and
volume toggle is ridiculously hard to find by sight as well as by feel and are hard to press.
This plus the 4 - inch display and the placement of the power
button and
volume toggle make the phone easy to use one - handed.
The raised power
button and
volume toggle are easy to find by touch and in the same position as on the Nook Tablet.

Volume controls a multifunction
button, a
toggle for the «Environment filter» used by the app, and a power / connection slider all ring the right ear cup.
The device has a colorful snooze
button shell, plus some smaller
buttons to control
volume,
toggle the LED display (it also dims to off over time), and play / pause music.
There's a USB 3.0 port, a headphone jack,
volume rocker, a
button for
toggling autorotate, a switch to summon the W8 on - screen keyboard and a power
button.
To be fair, some of its optional features are handy: Holding the recent apps
button can take a screenshot; an «Outdoor»
volume toggle loudens the speakers; another mode makes the screen easier to use with gloves; a simplified «Kids» mode could help parents; and a quick setting to kill off wasteful background processes is nice.
Around the outside of the device you can find the standby
button, the new microSIM slot (which has some improved benefits over the standard SIM card), a speaker, a microphone, another microphone (that helps remove background noise), a headphone jack, a silent
toggle, and two separate
volume buttons.
A hole through which you
toggle the ringer switch, pass - through
buttons for power and
volume, and grilles for the speaker and microphone are all present, as is a hole through which you access the headphone jack.
Do not disturb simply shows two
toggles: one for enabling a do not disturb mode
toggle under the
volume slider and another for adding a
volume button shortcut so do not disturb turns on when you press the
volume down
button once more after vibration only.
The
volume buttons, wide and flat rather than round, are located on the left directly beneath the ring / silent
toggle switch.
The middle
button toggles play / pause modes, while the top and bottom
buttons adjust
volume.
Finally, your standard Power
button,
Volume Up / Down keys, and an Auto - rotate
toggle are located in the upper right.
Physical controls are limited to
volume up / down and a microphone mute
button that doubles as a camera
toggle, all running along the top edge.
First and foremost, there's a new
button underneath the
volume slider itself which
toggles between different ringer modes.

Everything else is clear with the right side of the device holding the Power

The power
button is located under the
volume toggle, which makes it easy to press while reaching for the phone's navigation
buttons (Back, Home, Search), and we really like the feel of the shutter
button, which has a springiness to it that we haven't seen before.
For example, the power
toggle button should have been larger and red, the
volume buttons could have been a different shape, etc..
There are independent
toggle - inspired
buttons for
volume and adjusting the bass
volume.
The
buttons feel very clicky and sturdy, and we like that the power
button has a textured and grippy surface, so it's easy to tell the difference between that and the
volume - up
toggle that's right below it.
On the left are the
buttons for
volume toggle and power / lock, and on the right is the SIM card slot, as the device has a unibody design and thus no slots under the back cover, which isn't removable.
Nokia's odd placement of the power
button under the
volume toggle on the right side of the phone has finally paid off.
Also, on the right side of the device we can spot the SIM card and SD card trays, alongside a
volume toggle and the power
button.
Typical
buttons include the
volume rocker on the left side with the silence
toggle, and the power
button, which has been brought to the right side from its usual position up top for better access.
On this strip sits the
volume up / down
toggle, which is a solid, metallic rocker; a 3.5 mm headphone jack and power
button on the phone's top; and a micro USB connector on the bottom.
Along with the standard control
buttons such as
volume and menu
toggles, users will be able to use the remote as a gaming controller for several games such as Rayman, Guitar Hero and even Crossy Road.
We particularly like the Battlestar Galactica - style curved cworners, which make it easier to slide your fingers from the power
button on the top right to the
volume toggle on the right side of the unit.
