made, such as the placements of the power button,
volume toggle, and speakers.
To be fair, some of its optional features are handy: Holding the recent apps button can take a screenshot; an «Outdoor»
volume toggle loudens the speakers; another mode
makes the screen easier to use with gloves; a simplified «Kids» mode could help parents; and a quick setting to kill off wasteful background processes is nice.
The keyboard has three levels of backlight that
makes working in the dark easy, and the F keys have the common shortcuts, including
volume, display brightness, airplane mode, account lock, and touchpad on / off
toggle.
The power button is located under the
volume toggle, which
makes it easy to press while reaching for the phone's navigation buttons (Back, Home, Search), and we really like the feel of the shutter button, which has a springiness to it that we haven't seen before.
We particularly like the Battlestar Galactica - style curved cworners, which
make it easier to slide your fingers from the power button on the top right to the
volume toggle on the right side of the unit.
