Her career has included serving as the Executive Director, American Art Therapy Association, and the volunteer Board President of the Torpedo Factory Art Center, an Alexandria, Virginia community art cCenter, an Alexandria, Virginia community art centercenter.

A tireless volunteer, Gibson is on the Board of Directors of the Houston Law Center Alumni Association, the Harris County Drug Court Foundation and the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce.

Currently, Ms. Fried serves on the Board of Directors of the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, which coordinates volunteer legal services State wide and also runs its own pro bono projects providing legal assistance to Maryland residents who are unable to afford legal representation.
