Starting at 7 a.m., dogs were carefully loaded aboard planes, and dozens of
volunteer pilots flew them to the waiting arms of rescue organizations up and down the East Coast, with the ultimate goal of finding each dog a forever home.
Each year, thousands of
volunteer pilots fly across all 50 states to rescue animals and bring them to safe shelters, or even their forever homes, miles upon miles away.

flying for both large and small aviation companies, as well as serving in the military as
pilots, non-pilot officers and non-commissioned members.
