Lord Ashcroft's post-election

here) showed the «three main reasons for
voting» for each political party
in the 2015 UK general election.
Whether you are wishing to register to
vote, applying for an absentee ballot, interested

polled fewer than half as many
votes as UKIP
in the European elections.
Kyle Dropp, the director of
polling company «Morning Consult», explicitly attributed this effect as a likely reason for discrepancy between
polls and
vote counts for Donald Trump (who's a poster child for «politically incorrect candidate» and, I'm willing to be, an inspiration for your question)

polls close after 10 p.m., 78 electoral
votes are sure to go to Clinton, and just 25 are likely for Trump.
