Once I had an epiphany as to how to resolve the button issue, by attaching the
waist ties to the ends of each
side of the bodice, and then creating a
small slit where the
waist tie could poke around from the inside to the outside of the garment, I knew I was
on my way to creating the perfect wrap dress.
As for the skirt itself, the heavy pleats allowed me to pull off one of my fave «no - sew» DIY alterations: I safety - pinned the waistband
on one
side to make the
waist smaller (and therefore higher), and hid the evidence under my knotted shirt.
I am
on the skinnier
side (25 inch
waist), and when I adjust the buckle strap to the
smallest it goes it fits around my
waist, but I feel like after a month of traveling in Europe it will eventually lose its elasticity and will become too loose.
