I'm pretty gun - shy on baring any skin but just a little peak with a high
waisted skirt seems to work.

I only ever
seem to see longer
skirts with elasticated
waists so had them made with a fitted
waist, with a proper zip on the back.
And there were a lot of things in what I would call the 50s silhouette, with a small
waist and a big
skirt — that
seemed to be a look that did well.
Anytime I wear a high
waisted midi
skirt I pair it with a crop top — just
seems to make sense... the shirt to
skirt ratio?
I've always read that, for this situation, I am supposed to try to make my
waist look higher (wear high -
waisted pants or
skirts, thin belts at my
waist or slightly higher, etc.)-- thereby making it
seem as though my legs are longer.
I loved the bold print of the navy and white
skirt, but even sizing down to a 4 (I am so not a 4) didn't
seem to achieve the right fit in the
waist.
But I can never
seem find a look I like because I have a very high
waist line so the
skirts I like are supppeerrr short on me.
