Salad with Argan Oil
If you can not find argan oil replace with
walnut, macadamia, or other nut oil.
We've added the honey toasted
walnuts separately so be sure to log both the
salad and
walnuts if you make the recipe as - is.
Let it sit on the
salad while you prepare the other ingredients (about 5 minutes, or 8 minutes
if toasting the
walnuts).
* 2 slices thick cut bacon - optional (I used my preservative free home - cured bacon) * 1 small red onion, peeled and thinly sliced * 1/2 pound clean and dry organic baby spinach * 1 cup coarsely chopped pea sprouts / shoots - optional (use another seasonal vegetable like asparagus,
if you prefer * 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese, or more / less to taste * 1/4 cup chopped raw
walnuts, or more / less to taste * 15 - 20 violet flowers * toasted
walnut or olive oil for drizzling on the
salad * squeeze of fresh lemon or drizzle of balsamic vinegar - optional
This baby spinach
salad, which I adapted from The Pioneer Woman, has all sorts of tasty things going for it - there's bacon (optional), caramelized red onion, pea sprouts,
walnuts and blue cheese - so
if you don't add violets, it's still an awesome
salad.
If you'd like to make this goats cheese
salad vegetarian, simply replace the bacon with more
walnuts and pear.

Walnuts: While figs are in the peak of their prime during the summer months, we recommends trying this recipe with apples or pears
if you get a hankering for this dish outside of fig season.
If piñon nuts are not available, substitute sunflower seeds or chopped
walnuts in this spicy tossed green
salad.

salad instead of pecans
if you'd like.
If you're feeling more creative, use your leftover meat to whip up turkey
salad with low - fat mayo and serve it over greens with dried cranberries and
walnuts.
You'll love this pear
salad if you like blue cheese married with avocado and pear and enhanced with sugared
walnuts.
If further cuts needed to be made, removing the
walnuts from the
salad and reducing the pasta portion at dinner could remove another 200 - 300, which already drops this individual down close to 700 overall, without negatively impacting workout performance.
I still have everything I need, its just fresh — I have learnt to make the yummiest
salads, delicious ways to cook meat,
if I feel like something sweet for desert I have natural (no sugar) yogurt with stevia, cinnamon and
walnuts, and its the BEST.
