wants out of church, authenticity may be the most important.

Yes, the
church can make whatever rule or decision it
wants, but the rest
of the world is perfectly well allowed to point
out when those rules are ill formed, and unnecessarily harm the members.
I don't like it when atheists
want to secularize our culture and shut
out any public mention
of religion... But I also don't like it when modern evangelical fundamentalists are so ignorant

This is all about control with religion and it has to stop.Gay people getting married doesn't have anything to do with straight people getting married.People are so full

i beleive there is good
out there, and as a Mom i
want to make sure i live me life in a way that will make my daughter proud

Church to her and i will teach her the commandments because whether or not Moses came down from the mountain with two tablets in his hands they are a good starting point to instill good morals.

It did this through having me take a tough look at myself and what I think I should be «getting
out of church» and what God actually

As a result, even our pastor is starting to realize that what started
out as «a class» to have a beginning and ending point, is now a body
of believers who don't
want to leave the gathering, but to continue growning in a much more comfortable, meaningful setting than they have been used to in the
church - building - lecture - learned way
of doing things.
I was so depressed, fearful, and permeated with these horrible thoughts about the Holy Spirit, and one night alone in my room I was watching one
of videos
of the services at
church, and there was a woman who was moved by the Spirit (didn't realize it, but I thought it was her acting on her own), and I lashed
out in frustration
of the nonstop intrusive thoughts, because I
wanted them to go away, and said «that's so stupid, and you are too Holy Ghost.»
I grew up in the
church all my life but I was following God's path, I didn't
want to let God take control
of my life but then at one point
of my life I was going through a lot, stuff that a teenager shouldn't be going through but then I told God that I
want him in my life to take control and to write
out my path not me and right when I said that I felt happiness, I felt love, I felt and I still feel (what God
wants me to do) that I have a purpose in life.
Like a groggy - eyed Jonah waking up from a nap in the dark hull
of a boat and giving incoherent answers to questions from desperate sailors caught in a life - threatening storm, we step
out of our
churches still tingling from the goose - bump worship experience, and give incoherent answers to our neighbors about the problems with their marriage, their wayward pregnant daughter, their drug - abusing son, and what God
wants from them to fix it all.
If mainline
churches want to thrive and remain true to their deepest theological commitments, they must reach
out to America's growing ranks
of unconventional families.
If some
of the members
of the
church want a youth pastor, and they think they can get away with paying him $ 40,000, are they ready to pull $ 80,000
out of the budget so that the
church can have a youth pastor and $ 40,000 for missions?
I have gone a few times to other
churches since, but really only because Christine
wanted to and not
out of any desire
of my own.
For those who
want to say he helps the poor again yes we are to help the poor, but the point
of the Bible is «we» the
church are to do it
out of love, not
out of tax and then hope the goverment does the helping.
It's hard to feel like you are

of controversy, women and african american would not have the right to vote today — more evidence
of the ignorance
of most bible thumpers, and Mississippi in particular

church - related agencies can get all the public money they
want with
out having to conform to the constitutional requirements that properly go with it should hardly be the crucial litmus test
of church - state relations or
of the optimal application
of the First Amendment's religion clauses.
