wardrobe or just starting to build one with the basics, there are certain
pieces you can't
do without.
A great way to
do this is to follow the fashion trends, as avoiding fashion trends altogether can mean you lose out on the chance to pick up some key
pieces for your
wardrobe.
Because while I
do believe in investing in key
pieces, there are definitely ways to amplify and improve your
wardrobe without breaking the bank.

If you don't want to spent a lot of money building an interim
wardrobe, consider buying only a few new, high quality items that you know you look great in, and then checking out a few thrift and second hand stores for more
pieces that will fit you without costing an arm and a leg.

Some / a lot of the items I have in my

It's always a struggle to find

wardrobe for multiple years — you don't want to be breaking your bank for an item you're only gonna wear a couple of times.
I have so many red
wardrobe pieces in my closet, that I wasn't sure how to explore a color story that didn't have at least 100 golden moments to share.
Maybe now that you don't need a five - day - a-week work
wardrobe you can invest (guilt free) in a few more «show pony»
pieces.
Even though I tend to wear oversized

do love to wear dresses from time to time.

I would seriously love to have a picture perfect
wardrobe, where everything blends seamlessly on a garment rack and you don't have clashing
pieces getting in the way when you want to take an instagram photo.
Though Uila asked for a list of 25 or 30 items, and I could certainly put together such a lengthy list, I wanted this post to loudly echo my own
wardrobe - comprised as it is of vintage, repro, and vintage appropriate
pieces - and the honest to goodness truth is that I don't wear (or own) a massive big number of different types of garments myself, so following in Janey's (super stylish!)
I hope that my reply here has helped to show you that one doesn't necessarily need a
wardrobe with 25, 30, 50 or more different types of garments (though of course, it can have that many, if you so desire, don't get me wrong), but instead that one of the best ways to create a killer
wardrobe is with different multiples of the kinds of
pieces that look best on you and which channel whatever kind of vintage look you're after.
A pinup witch is an excellent option if you're on such a strict budget that you don't want to spend out anything at all to make your costume, because I bet you have enough black
pieces in your
wardrobe to put something together, and also a great option for a last minute costume you weren't prepared to need.
Of course, you might say this is not the most exciting
piece of clothing in your
wardrobe, but you can make it look stylish, if you know how to
do it right.
This
does not necessarily translate to a strict percentage for your closet, but it
does indicate that your
wardrobe should favor versatile
pieces for the activities you engage in the most.
I rotated and restyled several
pieces, and still
do, but as seasons change and as my style evolves so
does my
wardrobe.
I have always struggled in this department because I love my fun, colorful, and bright
wardrobe... but the 9 - 5 dress code doesn't always allow me to use my favorite
pieces.
Some
