There's actually a copper pipe running next to the processor that contains water, which will run through and cool down the processor as it gets
warm during gaming and other heavy tasks.
Not exact matches
While in reality the device can get a little
warm during extended
gaming sessions (not much more than many other 8 inch tablet devices) the components used in the build have been selected to good effect.
The device did get
warm on a few occasions, but that was only
during long
gaming sessions, and would happen with almost any smartphone out there.
During heavy
gaming sessions — that is, over 20 minutes on Grand Theft Auto III, the chassis did get quite a bit
warmer.
Also,
during heavy use, when
gaming or streaming video, the entire back of the Mini gets noticeably
warm.
That's
warmer than we were able to get the Dell XPS, though we never felt that level of heat
during work or
gaming sessions.
In our experience, because the phone is made of metal it can get a bit
warm during a longer
gaming session and more so if the game is one of high quality with better than average visuals and special effects.
