warm via skin - to skin contact with his parents.

warm air does not allow transferring heat fully
via the respiratory system, load on the immature sweat glands is dramatically increased and the
skin is damaged as a result.

Energy (ie
warmer water) can convect upwards all it likes but it can only leave * through the
skin via evaporation or radiation which (I believe) is the limiting factor.
