Fabulous writing, great acting, and the brightest, funniest, sharpest,
warmest movie possible about a
family's tragedies.
Mainly, though, it's nice to see that Disney wants to introduce tykes to the magic of going to the
movies with
family fare this gentle and

Over the last few years, though, Hollywood has started breaking from its annual tradition of dumping their stragglers in the winter graveyard and saving their best films for the
warmer months, and while 2011's early film slate still contains its share of obvious duds, the studios have seen fit to bring us plenty of
movies worth getting excited about, from animated and / or
family - friendly fare to comedies, dramas, and action.
I'm really just assuming things got very
warm and
family - oriented once Ron Howard took over as the director of this
movie.
For my
family that means spending nights snuggled in watching endless
movies with
warm mugs of tea.

That thing was blatantly billed as a heart -
warming comedy, but unlucky suckers nationwide were duped into seeing a very unfunny
movie about a broken
family dealing with their matriarch slowly dying of cancer.
After they watch the
movie, I invite
families to get curious about the idea that emotions are «energy in motion» in our bodies, and I encourage them to notice what that energy feels like in their body (a pounding head, racing heart, a
warm wave of water washing over their whole body, butterflies in the tummy, etc.).
I think of my kiddos, weather outside and us inside cozy, good food,
family, a good sweater but not the entire brigade of weather armor, a nice
movie at home, a
warm drink, seasoned candles, rain on the windows... the whole thing.
I always asked myself why we didn't use our big formal room much and I decided it was because 1) I prefer smaller rooms, large rooms make me less comfortable 2) it was always cold in there and so we needed a gas fireplace insert to
warm it up in the winter 3) we didn't need another sitting room so we probably could have turned it into a
movie room with a big screen and theatre sofas or chairs so our kids would use it with friends or
family parties.
