With barely a day going by without another gloomy global
warming story making the headlines, it is difficult to know what it will take for the current US administration to wake up to the dangers of climate change - or to predict what effects our abuse of the planet will have on us, or our children.

So many of the other deals being discussed are «so what»
stories at best and, as I always say, two
warm cups of coffee don't
make a hot drink.
After that, as far as ANYONE knows there is nothing... no heaven, no hell - that is strictly a

make you do good in this world (cause otherwise you'll «burn» in the non-existent afterlife).

I love this cake because it is so

makes up the majority of shows like Criminal Minds.
I think this is useful for evaluating emission (and other tangential) reports claims /
stories that might lead folks to think we are
making significant progress in responding to global
warming.
What is shockingly ill - advised to me is that the Pielke and McIntyre projections both required, in order to fit with their hoped for
story line, that the adjustments not only affect the period from 1945 to 1960, but also extend beyond that into the late 90s, in order to level the more recent temperature increases so as to both
make the rate appear less dramatic and the amount of recent, CO2 forced
warming less of a concern.
It's a good PR gimmick for the Guardian, and I mean that is a positive way: the
story will get lots of ink and will be picked up by the international wire services like AP and Reuters, spreading the word far and wide, and the blogosphere will pick it up as well, and the news of the Guardian's picks will be useful in helping to
make more and more people aware of the very real problems of climate change and global
warming.
Which doesn't mean to say that companies and organisations with something to gain from ignoring the «global
warming story» do not
make very good use of the resultant contrarian information!

Does this
story disprove the possible affects of man
made warming, of course not.
Those who rail against the media for including too many voices of doubt in some
stories on global
warming science and policy might want to step back a minute and review the chart below, from last December, showing just how invisible coverage of climate is compared to the
stories that
make the cut each day.
