Now that I know how nice these slipcovers wash up, in the future I plan on
washing each slipcover as needed.
I haven't had to
wash the slipcover yet, but we do have a no food and shoes rule for the «white sofa» for our two little boys.

Because even though you can
wash slipcovers, I am lazy and don't want to have to unzip and stuff cushions back in every two days.

wash the slipcovers pretty much constantly, I decided the best win - win for us is that the dogs remain a part of the family:) and the sofa is switched for something a little more pet friendly without so much work from me.
Instead,
we wash slipcovers several times a week.
When we get a stain on it, though, I can
wash the slipcovers, which is nice.

wash the slipcovers they are making me sneezy anyway.

we wash our slipcovers with a little bleach and / or spot treatment, and boom.
The first time I tried to
wash the slipcover it shrunk massively and now looks like me anytime I try to put on my pre-pregnancy skinny jeans.

That sofa was an IKEA sofa so I could take the

slipcovers which are out - of - sight are made of a flimsy J - cloth type fabric & after only a few
washings split, in various places.
Since I have 2 littles, the

I have had the Ektorp sofa and beware of
washing / drying the
slipcovers.
I eventually bought a new
slipcover from Pottery Barn (they were a floor sample but still brand new) and it has lasted through bazillions of
washings, so that is a big plus too!
I do recommend using fabric softener when you
wash - I don't use fabric softener on our laundry regularly but it reallyhelps the
slipcover wrinkle situation.
I
wash my tan
slipcovers often and have held up fine, I just don't dry them for a long time.
We took the covers back and they gave us a new set, but I never
washed them again, which defeats the purpose of
slipcovered furniture.
We purchased a second
slipcover with it, so that, while I'm
washing the first one I can put the second on the chair.
Plus, the whole things is
slipcovered, so you can remove all of the fabric and throw it in the
wash!

slipcovers are easy to bleach, but think twice, will you be able clean them frequently?
You don't want to spend your life
washing and straightening a

Most material shrinks when you
wash it and you will be so sad if you spend all of that time making a
slipcover and then it shrinks in the
wash and no longer fits.
One more tip before we get started — make sure to
wash your material before you make
slipcovers.
