get bogged down with the semantics of peripheral players and focus on the real task at hand = figure out who the hell is going to be our starting 11 for the foreseeable future, which means
getting contracts signed,
getting rid of a lot of deadwood and bringing in talented players
into the positions which truly need upgrading... the rest is just unnecessary noise

Just like the majority right now is going on large sales and bundling to their heart's content, if a majority did business like this the initial revenue would probably stagnate and be much lower than expected, but after the consumers
got into their heads that the
games they wanted would NOT follow the expected process, revenue would increase and maybe allow for less
waste of resources on support (as you say) or channel them to good marketing campaigns that don't hurt either the consumers or the developers.
But if you do not expect a lengthy Ratchet & Clank
game then you should most definitely go
get Into the Nexus as it is a long awaited return to what made this franchise so great in the first place, and it is also a great way to
waste a few hours on just pure entertaining platformer action from start to finish, and let us not forget the guns, THE GUNS!
What I don't want to see is more
games getting more and more shallow because developers realize all that effort they put
into making gameplay that has any depth to it is
wasted because most players are sleepwalking through the
game.
Those

into the action, delivering a story not only through cutscenes, but the battles themselves also defining the outcome and shape of the narrative.

wastes absolutely no time in terms of
getting you
into the
game and discovering all of your abilities and moves very early on.
