I am sure I am not alone in that I spend far more time watching abstract films and short experimental videos than I do
watching feature films; in part because I make experimental films, and in part because, to my mind, the most risk - taking visual artists don't necessarily work in feature films; but instead work in video art and experimental filmmaking and newly emerging filmic art forms, such as gifs.
The plastic look of the animation can be a bit jolting at first after
watching the feature film, but it's actually quite detailed for a television series.
I didn't see the short film that was Whiplash's original format before
watching the feature film, but I do recall thinking before my initial screening that a director as young and inexperienced as Damien Chazelle seemed unlikely to impress me.

film — in order to access the commentary track, but once you do, it's definitely worth checking out.
The two documentaries included as special
features are nice enough in an HBO Special Presentation kind of way (and are worth
watching for the skinny Hirsch footage alone), but they're relatively lightweight and not nearly enough to satiate those for whom this
film has become an obsession.
The menu provides the choice to
watch the
film, select scenes, adjust languages and check out the special
features.
Now streaming on Netflix, Gerald's Game is the latest Stephen King novel to receive a
feature film adaptation, and while I probably won't find myself ever revisiting this movie, it's worth a
watch if you can stomach it.
We've already seen a couple of character posters for Inherent Vice

After
watching the special
features when I was more awake, including the audio commentary over the entire
film, I found myself remembering and appreciating more of the wealth of comic delights on offer though, so I knocked my star rating up a notch.

When you're
watching a [narrative]
feature film, you're often given bits of information at different times, not understanding [the whole story until the end].
The lineup for this year's Cannes Film Festival (or as they call it in France, Festival de Cannes) has been announced and it is robust with Oscar bait, highly - anticipated premieres, star - studded
features, and a lot of foreign and obscure
films that if
watched, will make you feel cinematically superior to everyone else.
The original A Nightmare on Elm Street also gets a Blu - ray debut this week,
featuring all the supplements from the earlier DVD «Infinifilm Special Edition» release (two commentary tracks, alternate endings, three documentary featurettes), plus the Blu - ray exclusive interactive «Focus Points» mode, which allows instant access to alternate takes and behind the scenes footage while

film.
For families who have enjoyed the animator's earlier short
films featuring the lovable team of Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run will be a delight to
watch.
This Paramount release offers an outstanding A / V presentation and a batch of special
features that help answer the question a lot of people probably asked themselves while
watching this
film: «how in the world did they do that?!»

Since this is all we're getting from Pixar this year (unfortunately no

watching.

The truth is, we have yet to
watch the extended version of the
film (it's eight minutes longer, and if we knew where those eight minutes were, we'd go straight to them), but if the deleted scenes in the Special
Features section on the Blu - ray are any indication, the makers of «Horrible Bosses» left nothing in the bag, as it were.
