This paper is designed for everything (charcoal, pencil, marker, wet media) and it's cheaper than
water color paper.
The only down side to
water color paper, it's a little expensive.

water resistance, smearing, and variations in
color depending on the width of the pen nib and absorbency of the
paper.

You will need some
paper (A3 used here) a white wax crayon and
water colors with a paint brush.
I load up with zip top main compartment with everything from diapers, wipes, baby food, toys, a baby carrier, extra clothes or shoes, store gift cards, pens, pad of
paper,
coloring books and crayons, granola bars, a bottle of
water and more.
You will need: 3 - 4 gradient nail polish
colors (dark to light and all in the tonal family), a clear top coat, a triangle makeup sponge, a cup of
water, a piece of
paper for blotting the polish, a paint brush + nail polish remover for clean up.
To add some
color to the
paper petals, I used a simple craft paint that was quite
watered down to give just a touch of
color.
You can use paintbrushes to blend
colors together, dilute pastel with
water and paint with it, or brush particles of eraser or pigment off the
paper.
The filtration uses a mixture of sand, iron filings and
water and for chromatography you need filter
paper chromatography strip and a suitable
colors of felt tip or highlighters.

The part I love (and even my wife), clean up is snap and because the
color is on the
paper first and then
water added you'll be amazed at how well it controls the mess.

I basically put all six
colors on a
paper plate, then dipped different parts of the brush into different
colors then into
water, tapping out the excess and smushed the brush into the brick in a dabbing, random motion.
