It was a natural
water birth in our
home without any anaesthesia.
You see, my
water broke at 27 1/2 weeks while we were vacationing in the Caribbean, and our plans for an undisturbed
home birth went gushing out with it.
If you want a
water birth and do not have an appropriately sized tub in your
home, you will have to rent or buy a birthing pool.
My second
birth was at
home and in the
water and wonderful and I'm planning a third homebirth.
When you're doing an intense physical activity like giving
birth, your body needs lots of
water and food, so I was really glad to be somewhere —
home — where I didn't have to fight any outdated protocols in order to eat and drink.

Incredibly beautiful story and so many elements of it took me back to my own
home water birth.
We watched videos of all different types of
births, some in the
water, some at
home, some at birthing centers.
If you are having a
home water birth, you need to take some practical considerations into account; for example, you need to think about the space you have available for the pool and make sure you have a floor which is solid enough to take the weight of the pool when it is filled with
water.

home water births, our experiences are diverse, and we want to share them with you.
I am not aware of any birthing facility that offers fresh, healthy, organic food and filtered
water, but if there is one, I suspect it's a
birth center or rather, one that allows you to bring your own food just as one would provide in their own
home birth.

Consider where you would like to give
birth — for example, many women prefer giving
birth at
home in warm
water, through a process facilitated by a midwife led team
Since
birth, I had gotten into the habit, in stead of using wipes when we were at the hotel or
home, I would plunk him into the sink (following a wet or poopy diaper) with Luke warm
water and he would always pee.
As stated in that post, if you wish to have a
water birth,
home birth or have your baby at the
birth centre, you will require a midwife to achieve this.

home and James was born in just four hours.

Another compelling reason for me to have a
home birth is I'd like to labor and possibly

water and my midwife has a birthing pool that we can set up right in our house.
Her «Help» when I came
home from hospital was to take the baby and give it
water during the night, which was something i would never have done during later
births, where I was one of the people in the maternity ward who always asked to be woken if baby cried!
For those who have actually attended an un-medicated
birth, a
home birth or a
water birth, can you imagine what the mother must think if she were to look down at a goggled and masked face catching her baby?
