I can't really answer your question because I have never tried converting dairy
grains to
water kefir.

not just for Kombucha but for our JUN,

kefir grains as well, depending on how cold it is.

kefir grains would work but from what I've read those who use
water kefir as a starter culture just use it straight (
not the
grains).
I will make a video soon of making
kefir — but it couldn't be easier, just add
water kefir grains to coconut liquid and let it ferment in a jar on the counter.
I haven't tried dairy
kefir grains, but I have been brewing
water kefir and making
kefir «soda», which is a probiotic the kids will actually drink.
This type of thing might be better for tibicos (
water kefir grains) that don't have the same issues).
So go ahead and do all your experiments, including putting milk
kefir grains into sugar
water and
water kefir grains into milk or anything else but understand that they will
not grow on these other mediums.
Water grains are a bit different, you need to convert your milk
grains to eat sugar but once converted, they do
nt change back to milk

kefir grains, someone told me to look for them with my fingers, I found them, and then washed them in spring

water kefir grains.
You can't grow milk
kefir grains in
water.
But if you want fully vegan
kefir grains then you would need to go with
water kefir not milk
kefir grains.

kefir grains in it, or

kefir grains will have to go back to milk after you use them in a non-milk substance a few times or they will start to die,

kefir grains in
water between batches.

Water kefir grains do
not affect people with lactose intolerance there is no milk used with them so it is completely dairy free.
Water kefir grains are gluten - free, vegan and dairy - free, thus a perfect choice for those who can
not tolerate dairy or those who are gluten - sensitive.
I haven't stopped using the
grains since I purchased them; I just keep starting another batch of
kefir water, one quart after another.
While
kefir is originally a dairy based ferment,
water kefir grains are
not related to them at all.

Coconut
water does
not provide enough nutrition for
water kefir grains to reproduce so they will need to be rested in sugar
