Using the Kepler space telescope, the team spent three years observing 50 trillion stars for the chance to watch as supersonic shock
waves reached their surfaces after explosions deep in the core.
When the shock
wave reaches the surface of the star, a bright flash of light, called a «shock breakout,» is predicted.

The answer is no because 99.9 % of a sound
wave reaching an animal is reflected at the
surface of its skin.
Little was known of the life cycle of internal
waves that can
reach as high as a 100 - story building yet barely cause a ripple on the ocean's
surface, said Harper Simmons, an oceanographer with the UAF School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences.
The increased
wave action
reaches down and stirs up sediments on shallow continental shelves, releasing radium and other chemicals that are carried up to the
surface and swept away into the open ocean by currents such as the Transpolar Drift.
This image shows how seismic
waves play out when they
reach the
surface: This elevation map depicts the
wave height of the tsunami triggered by the Sendai earthquake as it radiated through the Pacific Ocean.
In fact, it is only during these periods of low solar activity that very long radio
waves from space can pass through the atmosphere to
reach Earth's
surface.
VIOLENCE / GORE 6 - A woman swims into rough
waves near rocks to rescue her dog that seems to be stuck in heavy undertow and we see the dog disappear under the water's
surface, and the woman as well when her husband struggles to
reach her; another man pulls the husband to the shore, but he goes back in and does not come back out leaving their young child crying on the beach (we see the baby again later in the dark and continuing to cry on the beach).

When the
wave passes over, angle the board nose up, in this way you are making sure the nose of your board is the first thing that
reaches the
surface.
As the tidal
wave reaches her, she opens her mouth to sing, turning away as the
wave pulls across the water's
surface, swallowing her reflection.
Until such time as it gets so warm that water is evaporating and forming so many clouds that it cuts off the solar short
wave from
reaching the darker
surface.
Short
wave ionising UV is prevented by
reaching the
surface by being absorbed by O2.
It changes constantly along a river — supercritical or subcritical flow, standing
waves, afflux, cross-section changes,
surface roughness, dynamic changes in water stored in
reaches.
Altimeters measuring sea level are orbiting in LEO, at about 1340 km altitude (cf. Jason 1 / 2 / 3), while measuring the level of a sea
surface that is constantly fluctuating (
waves, swell, tides, gravity...) at all scales of time and space, with amplitudes that may
reach 20 or even 30 meters.
«A paper recently published in the journal Weather finds that global summer average sunshine [solar short -
wave radiation that
reaches Earth's
surface] dimmed during the period 1958 - 1983 [prompting an ice age scare], but markedly increased from 1985 - 2010.»
